Show Harpers Corner road to reopen The Harpers Corner Road in Dinosaur National Monument will reopen on Monday, June 27, announced announc-ed Superintendent Joe. L. Kennedy today. to-day. The 31-mile paved scenic drive leading to spectacular overlooks of the Green and Yampa River canyon country, coun-try, had been closed since mid-May by a landslide. Maintenance crews have restored enough of the 200 foot section of slumped roadway to make it passable, but Chief of Maintenance Art Williams cautions visitors to drive carefully and watch for heavy equipment, which will still be working on the road though the end of the week. The slide area is located approximately nine miles north of Monument Headquarters. Monument staff invites local residents and visitors to take advantage advan-tage of the reopened road to explore the rugged canyon country and enjoy the colorful wild-flower displays.
