Show Changes Effected In Ration Board Thatcher Handley, principal of j the Milford high school, is the new j chairman of the Milford war price and- rationing board, succeeding David S. Williams, who has acted in that capacity for more than 18 ' months. Appointed to serve with Mr. Handley on the board are D. A. Tanner, Howard ,. Gospill and Mrs. H. V. Carlson. Mrs. E. L. Smith, community servlce member of the board for several months, and chairman of the local price panel, will continue on the board. Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Carlson and Wil-lr.rd Wil-lr.rd Esplin will , continue to compose com-pose the price panel and Miss Helen Smith will remain in office as board and price panel clerk. Chairman Williams tendered his resignation - to H. Grant Ivins, state 0 P A director, some two weeks ago, and this was followed later by the resignation of L. G. Clay and Attorney Sam Cline, who have served in . the W P R setup several months longer than Mr. Williams, Mr. Cline having been county rationing director until that office was abolished, wfhile Mr. Clay was chairman of the original . Milford board, which came into existence about two years ago. The new organization was effected ef-fected the fore part of the week under the direction of Wendel Fernley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Fernley and a former Beaver boy, who has just recently been appointed ap-pointed to the office of field operations officer. In that capacity capa-city he will have charge of all W P R boards in nine southern Utah counties and will make his headquarters in Cedar City, to wnich place he will move his family in the near future. 17 |
