Show i i MT EMMONS chicken supper for bit alt emmons priesthood wednesday evening at a chicken supper was served for 75 5 members of the priest bood abod and martn partners rs the dinner was in charge of the relief society of the ward following dinner games amas and dancing were enjoyed teachers give social an evening of entertainment was held in the home of air and mrs airs webster tucker games were played and refreshments served clever easter designs in form of favors were presen presented ted to the guests those in attendance were mr air and mrs airs irwin pearson mr and mrs airs eri E ri murray mr and mrs harry chapman mr and nd mrs volney boswell mr and mrs alm walter kerksiek Kerk L cutler and mr and mrs W kerksiek kerksick spent ay iy evening at the webster tucker tucke inn I n n I 1 an Continue d aued ij ori on last fast vage page MT EMMONS continued from page three i mr air and mrs W tucker and principal lowell cutler were entertained sunday afternoon at the home of mr and mrs evan bennion volney 13 boswell oswell spent monday and tuesday in roosevelt on business S E atwood of salt lake city spent friday saturday and sunday of last week in mt alt emmons with his children leslie atwood lavon atwood and mrs L wall president owen bennion visited the talmage ward sunday mr and mrs andrew jones recently returned from a quick trip to texas where the father of mr jones was buried george rogers spent the forepart of f the week in salt lake on bu business Iness miss aliss evelyn pace spent easter in salt lake city miss kathran burton spent easter in ogden mrs le leroy roy rust and her daughter zella zelia have an extended trip to malad idaho to visit mrs rusts daughter mable parlell peterson spent the week end in provo mr and mrs frank Cham beio spen spent t easter in salt lake city miss kathryn tuddenham donham spent the weekend week end in salt lake city residents of mt emmons who took the trip to oregon and wash ington returned home safely last week after a ten day vacation they traveled over 2000 miles of beautiful scenic country and were well pleased with everything they saw they report that throughout the trip they never encountered such muddy boggy roads as here in the basin those who made the trip were lorrin boswell laforge dastrup walter horrocks and delworth meacham bit alt En inions road a disgrace the road that leads through gl mt emmons is a boggy mud liol and a disgrace to any community one of the canals which parallel the road has overflowed it banks and the water has down the road for days cars car not pass teams are kept busy the entire day pulling weary travelers through one or two days af such conditions is excusable but when it continues for days and by all indications weeks some comment should be made several membris of the community have worked diligently and should receive credit but otherwise nothing has been done about the situation if the canal runs wild its all right with many members of the community no one seems to care people look at the mess and merely say something should be done about it and walk away traffic has practically come to a standstill in the upper basin because of the road through this community the lack of interest taken by people leaves a dark spot on the community people who live here and have made their homes should show enough interest in civic affairs to take an active part in preventing the water from flowing down the main road and stop ping highway travel I 1 A mt emmons observer |
