M marilyn michl Is candidate for basin sweetheart marilyn michl daughter of mr and mrs frank C mical wa was selected recently by uintah stud students eilts to be their queen and to participate as a candidate for basin sweetheart queen at the 1953 uintah basin sweetheart ball sponsored by the uintah basin associated student council this outstanding dance will be held in the union high school gymnasium fe february 14 24 with neva ing the music corsages will not be in order marilyn will compete with four our other loveles for or title of queen the candidates include canipe nelson sophomore elected by union high marvel giles freshman lablona high arlene mountain senior du chesne high and betty long tong senior altamont high A panel of flye five judges representing each of the schools will select the queen and her four attendants during the dance the girls zirl will be judged for their personality ap appear r ance and poise s f the queen will be crowned and will reign over the dance seated in to a plush canopy y cov cover e r ed throne she and her attendants will receive gifts valued at more than 43 45 given by associated goc socia ted students of uintah basin council sponsor of the dance the sweetheart ball is the only annual event sponsored by uy all the schools in the council 4
