ALL LHILAGO PAPfAS s SUSPEND NO WAR NEWS FOR THE WINDY CIT5T Suspension Caused By a Strike of the Stereotypers Expect t Resume Within a Few Days Chicago July 1Te following bulletin bul-letin was posted at every Chicago newspaper office this evening at 10 o1 oclock At S oclock this Friday evening the stereotypers union notified the newspaper publishers of Chicago that unless their demands for an increase I of wages from 325 to 4 per day a I reduction of the working aay irom tigit to seven hours with payment at the rate of 75 cents per hour for all overtime I over-time and other concessions were at once acceded to they would refuse to return to work In consequence of this I action the in common with all other Chicago paper will not appear Saturday This action of the newspapers was in I pursuance of an understanding recently recent-ly I entered Into Including among other I provisions the following abetment In the event of a strik in any departments 1 depart-ments in one or more of the Chicago dally newspaper offices the mechanical resources of all our cilices shall be I pooled to the extent and with the purpose pur-pose that ro newspaper shall be published pub-lished until all the newspapers can be promptly published on the same dav The stereotypers have be n averaging II from 1950 to 22 per week on 6dn evening papers and from 2i to 27 on the 7day morning papers I is anticipated an-ticipated that the inllux of ster otypersy j from all parts of the country will be sa immediate and so great that the interruption inter-ruption of pub aton will continue for but a few days I
