Show The Deleterious Waters. Editors Herald: A recent petition to the city council coun-cil suggests that I be compelled (why not requested?) to provide Borne other means for draining "deleterious waters" from my steam soap works in the Nineteenth ward. In view of the trifling fact that no deleterious waters or other substauces are either produced pro-duced or sent forth by my works in the Nineteenth ward, I regret that "W. L. P. and forty-nice others" omitted to call at the premises and investigate matters prior to asking ether intervention. The kettles at my works are drained once ft week. and the waters referred to are charged with common salt and glycerine only these and nothing more. The salt in the water is fit ft I to miuoows, and the fact that numbers of these important fish have been found dead iu the creek near my works is adduced by tonic a proof poeitive that the draiunge ia poibonous; but I wish to slate that the drainage complained of has beeu going on for upward of two mouths, and etill no instance of poitoneJ bovine or de funct mortal bus been brought forward.
