A killing a(T.iir took place at ruin city Uit Monday evening by which one Henry Wadman, jr., was kiili-d It appears that the deceased and a young man named Joseph Dudley, had at one time been firm friends, but owing to the separation of Dudley and bis wife, in which Wadmao is supposed sup-posed to have taken a very active part, ill feelings were engendered. Tue parlies rutt at the residence of , Mr. Raymond, presumably for the ! transaction of some business, and appeared very courteous. Mr. Raymond, Ray-mond, who was present at tbe meeting bad occasion to retire to his room. When Dudley and Wadman were left together, Wadman requested Dudley to step outeide a moment, and this being complied with, be demanded de-manded that Dudley retract certain remarks, and put his hand behind bim, aa though to draw a pi;tcl. Dud:ey struck bim in tbe head with a whip, aud drew bid pistol. Wadman'a cries drew Raymond and a Mr Stephen into tho yard, but Dudley told them he wanted no interference laud fired three shots at Wadman, each taking eflect iu b 19 bead, and killing him outright. Dudley tbtu movtd up to toe window and coolly reloaded his pietjl. He sited those with bim to accompany bim to tbe magistrate's, which they did, and he gave himeelt up: Wadman, upon examination was found to be totally unarmed. The examination of Dudley will not take place for a day or two, though it was expected to have taken place yesterday. |
