Show No 'Scratching' In Primary Election Utah voters must bear in mind that in the primary elections, elec-tions, September 3 and October Octo-ber 1, they will not be able to vote a "split ticket" as they can do in the general election. That is, the voters must vote only for Democratic candidates or for Republicans; they cannot can-not "scratch". Voters will receive both ballots bal-lots when they go to cast their vote. They may then vote for either Democratic or Republican Re-publican candidates, supporting support-ing their favorite candidates on the ballot they choose. The other ballot must be handed to the proper judge of election, elec-tion, who then places it in a special box for blank ballots. Statute provides that the contents con-tents of the blank ballot box shall be destroyed without inspection by anyone, so it is important that the voter be careful that he does not discard dis-card that part of the ballot which he has used in voting. Appearing in this issue of The News is a sample ballot, a fac simile of the official ballot bal-lot you will be handed at Tuesday's primary, and we suggest that our readers make a close study of the ballot bal-lot and thus be better prepared prepar-ed to cast their vote with a minimum of confusion.
