Show WHERE THE "MONEY POWER" BELONGS "j..ni-- '-ave funds to care for any conceivable rise in de- j mand i . redit", according to William R. Kuhns, editor of Hanliin, "'and all their efforts and research of recent years' have helped prepare them for such a period as probably liesj ahead". I As the preparedness program develops, existing sources of bank credit should be used to the utmost. The idea that government should dominate the credit picture, pouring out billions of tax money in an endless stream, is an exceedingly dangerous thing. It would divert funds from other and necessary purposes. It would inflate .taxes and the debt niore than is necessary. And of greater importance, it would be a dangerous extension of political control over the financial finan-cial destinies of the people, and actually control their economic econo-mic freedom. If private banking is allowed to do the job, it will mean that the "money power" will remain in the hands of the people, peo-ple, where it belongs. |
