Show Night Racing Will Get First Tryout j At Payson Fete Night horse racing make); its duhut in Utah at Payson's 13th annual Golden Onion Days and Homecoming celebration, which gets underway Friday, August 30 and continues until Monday, September Sep-tember 2 (Labor day). According to Ray Wilson, manager, man-ager, the night racing programs booked for Friday and Saturday evenings will be shows worth going miles to see. Sixty-four giant floodlights have been installed in-stalled and in addition a complete 28-act three-ring circus will be staged between the races. A special feature on the opening night will be the presentation of a beautiful trophy by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. On Saturday, August 31, at 5 p.m. the first of the huge "Onion Days" parades will be staged, with more than 60 gorgeous floats and eight bands in the line of march. Sunday is the homecoming day with the big feature the homecoming home-coming program in the evening at the Nebo stake tabernacle. Monday will again be Utah's biggest Labor day celebration, with something doing every minute. min-ute. The huge parade will be repeated re-peated Monday morning at 10 a.m. and will be followed with the Labor Day Race meet in the afternoon after-noon with eight big races to -be run. The concessions committee announces an-nounces that the biggest and best midway ever built in' Payson will be featured during the four days of the celebration. Official "Onion Days" dances will be held under the stars at Memorial park each night of the celebration. Special rennions, band concerts, shows and features for the kiddies kid-dies will make Payson's 'greatest "Onion Days" a complete round of entertainment for everyone. M |
