Sunday guests at the home of Mrs. William Wirthlin and Mayme, were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wirthlin and family of Salt Lake City; Lee Wirthlin, who is attending the BYU, and his sister and her three children, Mrs. Weldon (Betty Wirthlin) Clark of Afton, Wyoming. During dinner, Mrs. Wirthlin had a call from her daughter-in-laMrs. Douglas Wirthlin of California, so all had a chance to visit with her via phone. It was a pleasant day for Mrs. Wirthlin and for all family members. The visitors also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sanderson and boys. w, Airs. Jay Sorensen and children of Moab spent the weekend here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Garbett, Sr. Air. Sorensen joined a group of friends for the deer hunt. They left for their home Alonday evening. Air. and Airs. Raymond Hansen and family of LaAIesa, California, arrived in Eureka last Thursday afternoon. They visited the afternoon with his mother, Airs. Roanna Hansen and left that evening for Salt Lake City where Airs. Hansen will spend the time with her m(h ther, Airs. Violet Chapman. Air. Hansen and his brother-in-lawill hunt in the Uintah Aloun-tainw, s. Air. and Airs. Ed Thomas were dinner guests last Friday at the home of Air. and Airs. R. E. Finch in Payson. and Airs. Floyd Nash and graanddaughters, Becky, and Cathie Robinson, and Airs. Wilson Lee were in Ephraim last Sunday, attending a piano recital. Two granddaughters of Mrs. Lee and Mr. and Airs. Nash, Nancy and Carla Lee, daughters of Air. and Airs. Glen Lee, participated in the recital. Air. Air. and Airs. Alax Sorensen of Salt Lake City spent the weekend here with their parents, Airs. Virginia Cartwright and Air. and Mrs. Pete Sorensen in Alammoth. Airs. Wilma Webber spent the weekend in Provo and Orem where she visited with her sister, Aliss Freida Ohlsen and with her son and family, the Ed Webbers in Orem. Air. and Airs. Carlos Rife and son, Roger and Airs. Gear of Springville, were in town last Sunday visiting with Airs. Elsie Nilson. Lu-el- la Aliss Rose Ann Ferris, who is employed in Salt Lake City was home over the weekend spending the time with her parents, Alayor and Airs. Charles Ferris. Air. and Airs. William East-woo- Peterson, who is in Price, spent the teaching weekend here with his parents, Air. and Airs. P. C. Peterson and other relatives. He returned to Price Alonday afternoon. He succeeded in bagging a nice deer. Airs. AIcDon-nand children drove on Friday to Provo and visited with her mother, Mrs. Alillie Rife. On Sunday, Airs. AIcDonnel was hostess at a family dinner. Those attending were the Bill AIcDonnell family, Airs. Alillie Rife of Provo; and Airs. Florence Bruno, a house guest of Airs. AIcDnnel. Bill and his family returned to Calif., Sun. Air. and Airs. Airs. John Underwood was rushed to the Nephi Hospital last Thursday, where she underwent an emergency appendectomy. Eisyabeth Franke is spending the week in Los Angeles, where she will attend installation of new officers in the various chapters of the Airs. el Eastern Star. Airs. Ada Alclntyre and Ann of Salt Lake w'ere here for the weekend visiting with friends in Eureka and Alammoth. Sunday guests at the home of Airs. He was lucky in getting a nice deer on the opening day. When he returned to visiting with her daughters, Airs. Vera Leatham and Airs. E. J. Underwood. She was a guest at the Leatham home. Roy Siler of Ogden is spending the week at the home .of her daughter and family, Supt. and Mrs. Alex Blight, and getting acquainted with the new daughter at the Blight home. Air. and Airs. Dean Rose of Mammoth, the James McNeils, Eureka, and their sons-in-la- w, Joe Roybal of Kearns and Alont Brown of Payson, joined in the deer hunt last Saturday and all in the party returned home with a deer. They hunted in the West Tintic Alountains. Air. and Airs. Ed Webb drove to Wendover Saturday for a visit with their son, A. B. Webb, who is employed there. Alarvin Peterson, Ronald Thomas, Larry Thomas and Gary Peterson, son and grandson, of Air. and Airs. P. C. Peterson were among the deer hunters bringing home a nice deer. They each bagged a deer on the opening day. They returned that evening in time for a dinner at the John Thomas home. Alarvin Peterson bagged his deer before 9 am. on the opening day. Jackie, Cathie and Sherrie Wilde, children of Air. and Mrs. Jack Wilde of Dugway, spent the weekend here with their and Airs. grandparents, Ed Webb while their parents Air. The family lived in Salt Lake until 1896, when they moved to Eureka. He became interested with John Q. Packard, in the Eureka Hill and Gemini mines. In 1880 he opened a store with Pat Cusick in "Dutch Town under the name of They later moved to a new building on corner of Alain and Church Street. It was later incorporated as the Tintic Alercantile Company. His heirs conducted the business until Oct. 1928. His sons were prominent mining and businessmen in Eureka.
