Eden General Store Thanks to the Ogden Valley Business Lincoln The “work we are in” is the life-affirming drive to help everyone touched by cancer face the disease with courage and dignity, and to work together toward a future in which cancer no longer threatens the people we love. It is hard to believe it has been a year and half since we lost our dear friend Karen Starnes. To honor Karen’s memory, last year I became involved with the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life,” which is held each June at WSU’s Football Stadium. The “Relay for Life” represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that hose who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. My hope is that, as a community, we will join together to support this cause in Karen’s memory. How, you may ask, can I get involved? One way is to purchase and dedicate Luminaria Candle Bag to be lit during the “Relay for Life” which will be held on June 9 at 9:30 p.m. in a special ceremony at Weber State University’s football stadium. For a JEANNE ATKINSON PO BOX 1036 EDEN UT 84310-1036. Any size donation to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated. Remember to make your check payable to The American Cancer Society; your donation is tax deductible. Thank you Ogden Valley for your suport! Remember, it’s about being a community that takes up the fight against cancer. Hope to see you at the relay. If you know of a cancer survivor, the American Cancer Society would like to honor them at a special ceremony on June 9. Please send me their name and address and I will make sure they receive an invitation. Jeanne Atkinson, den 2 What a great adventure this has been!
