Lone Ieak was third al 129. I impanogos' Matt Reeves was fourth in 5A. In 4A, Spring-ville's Spring-ville's Spencer (iardner was se ond, lulu's Chris Irton was third and (Yovo's Adam Smith was fifth and Austin OLsen was sixth. FOOTBALL Timpview began the season as the f aily I lerald's top-ranked top-ranked team and by the end of the season, the T'Birds had proven worthy of the ranking. Timpview beat Highland 21-12 in the state title game to win their second title in the last three years. Mountain View finished second sec-ond in Region 4 before posting a series of upsets. Lone Peak won the region by a half game, but Clearfield surprised Lone Peak in the first round. In 4A, Orem ( 8-1-1) edged out Provo (7-2-1) by a game in region play. Both teams made it to the semifinaLs. Provo lost to Bonneville 2-1, and Bountiful beat Orem 5-1 in the other semifinal. SWIMMING Orem sent retiring coach Dan Miller out a winner by claiming the school's first boys swimming swim-ming title. The Tigers finished with 313 points, beating out Mountain Crest (288) and Murray Mur-ray (272). Brady WelLs was named the Swimmer of the Meet. Wells won the 100 breaststroke, posting post-ing an All-American standard time of 57.95 seconds, and then anchored the final 400-yard free relay team that placed first. Orem's Andrew Ballejos won the 100 fly and Zach Miller won the 100 free. The Tigers also won gold in both the 2(K) and 400 freestyle relays. TENNIS Timpview won its fifth consecutive con-secutive boys tennis title and its seventh in the past nine years. Orem's A.J. Young finished second in first singles. Mountain View finished second behind Lone Peak in Region 4. TRACK Timpanogos sprinter Silas Si-las Pimentel had a meet to remember by setting a state 5A record in the 100 meters with a time of 10.66 seconds. He also won the 200m (21.81), and anchored Timpanogos' 4x100m relay team (41.80) that took first. Taylor Lyons wasn't far behind, be-hind, finishing second in both sprints. Despite the success in the sprints, it wasn't enough to help Timpanogos catch Davis, which won the 5A title. In 4A, Box Elder El-der held off a Timpview charge to win by just 3.5 points. Timpview's Tyler Goodwin won the 100m and finished second sec-ond in the 200m. The T'Birds also won the 4x 100m relay. Orem's boys finished in third, led by hurdler Tom Steele. WRESTLING Pleasant Grove's Keola Goodman Good-man won an individual title at 1 12. Lone Peak's Paul Johnson won at 119. The 4A championship was much closer. Mountain Crest took home the title with 239 points. Box Elder was second with 226 and Springville was third with 211. The Red Devils dominated the lower weights. Kolby Bradley won at 1 19, Logan Wilson won at 125, Hayden Petersen won at 130 and Jason Chamberlain won at 140. S.
