Show BflC, Dixie Suffer Losses in Baseball Tilts The BAC Broncos and Dixie Flyers each lost to the Snow Badgers and Carbon Eagles in the ICAC southern division baseball base-ball race last week end. The Broncos lost to Carbon by a 5 to 4 score, and the Flyers lost to the Price team 6 to 5. Snow won in a more convincing fashion, taking the measure of BA"" 13 to 5 and of Dixie 15 to 9. This sets the stage for the final game of the season between Dixie and BAC on the local field Friday afternoon. In the first game between the two teams BAC walloped Dixie by a score of 12 to 3. The Broncos have one other victory to their credit, a 6 to 5 victory over Snow, while Dixie has only one victory on its list, a 7 to 2 win over Carbon. In the Carbon game Thursday the Broncos outhit the Eagles 9 to 5, and made only 2 errors to four for their opponents, but went down to defeat nevertheless. The Broncos scored 3 runs in third inning and then went scoreless until the final inning when they were able to push over one more run, Carbon did their scoring In the third and fifth innings. In the Snow game the Broncos took a 4 to 1 lead in the early innings, getting two runs in each of the second and fifth innings. However, the Badger power exploded ex-ploded in the fifth inning, when the Snow team pushed five runs across the plate. The victors added add-ed three runs in the sixth, and two each In the seventh and elgth Innings, while the best BAC could do was one more run in the sixth. Snow outhit the Broncos 13 to 5, and each team committed three errors. The BAC-Dlxle game Friday will start at 3 p. m. on the Cedar City baseball diamond east of town. |
