Show IT WILL BE A DRY YEAR the decision of alio catali lake the utah lake commission met tuesday at lehi this commission was established in 1885 to regulate the outflow of waters from utah lake through the jordan biyer there but three members present oa thursday out of civo so that no definite auction was taken the commission is now composed of the fol lowing named gentlemen francis armstrong and george B wallace of salt lako county richard norman and joseph hibbitts lib bitts of utah county and W B smith of davis county as arbitrator armstrong wallace and norman yesterday made an inspection cf the lake at the lehi monument and found the level of the lake to be two feet five inches below what is known as compromise point or ton inches above low water mark measurement was taken just one year ago the water was then one foot inches higher than it is now la the commissioners opinion the lake will not rise moio than six inches before this years irrigation season last year during the same period it did not riso at all so it is fair to presume that when irrigation begins this year the water supply for the vari bous canals will be at least one foot three inches less on tho surface of utah lake than last year these figures are ominous as meaning that i this will be an exceedingly dry year |
