SKEETER DOROTHY WHITE Correspondent Rhone 29-J- 1 The Seagull class of First ward have spent the past two Tuesdays at the home of Dorothy White for a lesson and handicraft. The girls are doing excellent work in crocheting and have started making uniquo handkerchief boxes. Their former teacher, Mrs. Ora Drown, has taken a leave of absence. At the last Tuesday meeting part of the time was spent in writing a note to her. Punch and cookies have been enjoyed at the end of each meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Art White and children, Judith Anne and David, enjoyed a full day in the lakes region in the Uintah mountains last week. Although their catch was exactly one average trout, the hiking was excellent. They visited nine of the lakes and hiked several miles and saw lots of beautiful scenery while doing so. Miss Kathlyn Sue White, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Art White, was overnight guest at the Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wilcox residence last week. New residents in Clearfield are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Timmerman and daughter Judy. They are living on Main Street. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Thurmin are vacationing in Yellowstone Park with Mr. and Mrs. Chance Heaton from Shelby, Idaho. Mrs. Gran-dadd- y Heaton is Mrs. Thurmins sister. During their absence their daughter Arietta and son Elliott are staying with Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Midland. Mr. and Mrs. Ily Krutbosch and family enjoyed an outing at the Union Pacific party at Lagoon last Saturday. Mrs. LaVora Wood and daughters Mary Ellen and Ruth Ann have been vacationing in California and visiting with Mrs. Gale Stevenson in North Carolina. A pleasant day was spent last Sunday by Arthur T, White and family on a drive to the Fish Hatchery at Huntsville, where the children, Judith Anne, David and Kathlyn enjoyed fishing with a sure catch. Following this they drove to Monte Cristo expecting to enjoy a fish- fry but on arrival - discovered the fish had fallen out Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Barlow of the trunk which opened on one and family attended the Barlow of the bumps. Mr. and Mrs. Milt Hadfield and family enjoyed a picnic with Mr. and Mrs. Gale Starks and family in Ogden Canyon last Sunday. Sunday guests of Mrs. Wm. Davis were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Davis and daughter Deluma from Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Stallings of Eden, and Mrs. Katherine Frasier from Clinton. Monday evening the junior soft-bateam of the Clearfield First ward played North Box Elder ward in the divisional tournament of the church in Ogden and won They were slated to meet Hooper Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Taylor recently entertained friends at a barbecue supper. They were Mrs. Martina Hanson, Mrs. Ray Hancock and children from Jerome, Idaho; also Mr. and Mrs. William Urry from Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hadfield of Layton, Mrs. LaNonda Buck and children from Harrisville. Chuckie Odd, little son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Odd and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Speirs, was in the hospital overnite last Monday as a possible polio suspect. However he had been suffering from an ear infection and was sent home Tuesday morning. Guests of the C. W. Guthrie of Charleston, West Virginia and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mariana from Texas City.
