We were able to meet two of the runners besides John Yardley and Kelly Shakespear. One girl was from Sydney, Australia and she was very friendly with the school kids and signed autographs. We also met Mr. Burke Stahley from St. George. He is a school principal there. He let Ernie and I hold his torch and take a picture. pic-ture. I'm sure others of you had similar experiences. The weather weath-er cooperated and except for a cool as well as Benjamin Rose, son of Daniel and Sarah Rose. The Visiting Teacher Workshop was held on Wednesday night. Helen Willis has been the supervisor for twenty years. She was presented present-ed a dozen red roses for her service. Millie Chidester of Richfield was here visiting Artoise Piatt and her mom, Delpha Rose and other family members. Terry Naylor or Cedar City spent a day visiting Clayton and Heather Johnson and family. Speakers in Henrieville LDS Ward were Gail Miles and Brady Syrett. Kimberly Rose sang a special musical number. Also visiting were Sara, Lance and Skyler Syrett. We had hoped to have more pictures of our beautiful area on TV from when the Olympic Torch was in Bryce Canyon. But did appreciate Bruce Lindsay mentioning it later and glad he reads the Garfield County News. Lula Moore and Darreld and Mary Lou Nielson attended the blessing of Craig and Tina Browns baby boy. He was given the name of Garrett. They live' in Enoch. |
