Show movie emus Vicki Syrett 679-8687 vickiscinternet.net In the Tropic LDS Ward on Sunday during Sacrament meeting, meet-ing, Clay and Shelly Stewart had their new little daughter blessed. Clay did the blessing and you could tell how proud he was. He is a son of Duane and Carol Steward who are the proud grandparents in Tropic. It is always great to see the young children get up and bear their testimonies. They have such special spirits and we could all take a lesson from them. The TropicCannonville Cub Scouts held their Pinewood Derby and there were some very well designed cars. It was really real-ly neat to see the different shapes the boys came up with. The boys and their fathers worked together on the cars. The winners in the Wolf Den were Cajun Syrett, first, Duncan Leslie, second and Jacob Syrett, third. In the Bear Dean the winners win-ners were Trevor Henrie, first and Stetson Mangum, second. The Webelos Den winners were Brandon Cowan, first, Kaden Pollock, second, and Dayne Shakespear, third. A great time was had by everyone in attendance. atten-dance. Blue and Gold Banquet coming up. It was such a thrill to see so many children participate in the Olympic Torch Run at Bryce Canyon. The kids sang beautifully beauti-fully and were very patient and understanding of the delay. Good work! Everyone did a super job of planning the Torch Run in our area. The traffic leaving the event was very heavy. I have never seen that many cars in this particular area all at once. Someone once said, "I have learned that wherever I go, .the world's worst drivers have followed me there." That wasn't true this time as everyone every-one was polite and excited about seeing the Torch being run. It is great seeing all tHe new calves being born. They are so cute and fun to watch as they frolic and play in the fields. We sure hope everyone is feeling better or trying to. There is so much sickness in the air. There are a lot of kids out sick with flu and colds. Maybe a bid snow storm would clean the air out. (Oh no) Besides we really need the moisture. Editor's Note: Thanks to Vicki for taking on the daunting task of Tropic news columnist. She could use each of your help with gathering highlights of family travels, visits and happenings! |
