Show Let 's Debate The Issues There seems to be a strange psychological phenonmena affecting those who write letters to rebutt letters sent to the Garfield County News about various issues and opinions. It seems that instead of debating issues or opinions presented, that a personal attack is laid on the author. I would like to see a rebuttal stick to the issues, not insult,-demean, put down or vil-lify vil-lify the author that raised the issues. Case in point. In a rebuttal letter of 31 Jan., Dennis Phillips stated, "My letter is no statment of personal defamation to Hubiak..." Then proceeded to do just that, avoiding the issues. Please lets debate the issues, not debase ourselves in personalities, person-alities, demeaning someone else. Matt Wetzel Henrieville |
