Airman Arrives Home Front North' Africa Local Explorers Among Planners T Sj Explorers of the Lake Bonneville Council are planning a to Citizens Now Conference be held at Utah State University, Logan, Utah, October 11 and 12. , Among those planning the Conference are: Clyde Owens, Brigham City, Promotion chairman; Gill Jensen, Brigham City, Activities chairman; Gayle Allen, Ogden, Arrangements chairman; Stanley Mellmg of Ogden is Discussion and chairman, Clair Zollinger of Penrose is General chairman. Explorer Other Explorers throughout the Council will be selected soon to act as discussion leaders. Adult Advisors are assisting this steering committee. the Explorers throughout Council will gather at Logan to analyze their place in society and decide what they should do about it now. Outstanding leaders in business, education and religion will present keynote and theme addresses and challenge the Explorers to take their place as Citizens in the home and community. Recreational facilities of the University have been reserved for Explorers during the evening of October 11, and free hours during the conference. Following the conference, October 12, the Explorers will adjourn to the stadium to see the Utah Aggie-NeMexico football game. UTAH 3n STATE Home on a thirty day leave from North Africa is Airman Second Class Carl J. Robertson, Jr., son of Mrs Blanche Lockhard, Brigham City. Airman Robertson arrived home Aug. 31 and will remain for 30 days. He has been stationed in North Africa for the past 14 months with the Air Force Special Security office attached to the Fifth Air Division. He will return to North Africa for six approximately months. Young Robertson entered service July 1, 1955. Bolt Came Twice BEEKMANTOWN, , N. Y. (UP) Farmer Elihu Pierce, one of whose cows was struck dead by lightning near a gate post 48 years ago, used to laugh when told about it striking twice. Recently another of his cows was struck dead in the same spot. Dee and Scott Hawkins have spent the summer with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rose.
