Show Garland's New Flour Mill. Work Commenced Machinery on the Hoad .Mill to be In Operation May Ut In ronversntlon with J. F. Krdmiinn.. who has been nt the Clayton Hotel for n number of diys this week, we obtained encouraging news of tbe new Hour mill In course of construction just south of the O. S. I,, depot. The carpenter work on the mill commenced on the 101 b Inst. Contractor M, K. Anderson of Hrlglmm City and a force of men arc busily engaged en-gaged aming to have all the work completed com-pleted by March 20th. The residence for the miller will be ready for the plasterers the first of next week. Who the miller Is to ho we were unable to lenrn only that ho is a thoroughly com-pltent com-pltent man. The foundation of the mill has been In for some time and now the carpenter work has began In ernest. AVe had the plcasutc of being shown tbe elevation plans of thu new mill and It Is to be n svvctity-fivc barrel mill. Tbe building Is to hu-u tbrec-story structure with a lmcmcnt and the height from foundation to the sqinirc U JW feet. The mill, when completed, will havenncUivn- tor room with a capacity of 15,000 bo. joining the building on the north end, a large ware-room and store-room 20xt!0 feet on tbo south end of main building aud other up-to-date conveniences. The machinery coiisits of four double sets of rollers, a chopper and a net of burrs for making coruiueal, graham aud buck- wheat Hour. It Is to lie one of tlic best mills In the state and Is capable of fur-nUhlug fur-nUhlug the entire Hear Hlver Valley with chop-feed, graham. cnrntneal, buckwheat buck-wheat and all grades of flour. The machinery ma-chinery and plans of the building were furnished by Kordyku and Marmon Co., of IndianapolN, Ind. Kleetrlc power will bo'uscd and will be furnished by tbe Hear Hlver Power Co. The company Is known as The Gar-laud Gar-laud Milling Co. .1. F. Krdiuaim Is the president anil Ncls .lenson, secretary and treasurer. Mr Krdnuinn informed u that the work would be rapidly pushed aud if weather condition1; did not Interfere Inter-fere with their plans thu new mill would Ihi In operation May 1st. |
