Show Utah students are college oriented Utah's high school graduates gradu-ates continue to be highly college oriented, according to an annual study released today to-day by the State Board of Education's Ed-ucation's Division of Auxiliary Services. The study, based on ques-tionaires ques-tionaires returned by 17,644 seniors who graduated from Utah high schools in the spring of 1969, shows that 6dA5 planned to attend college col-lege after high school graduation. gradu-ation. Other intenions listed were work, 11.58 percent; vocational vocation-al school, 7.86 percent; business busi-ness school, 3.91 percent; other oth-er schools, 2.74 percent; armed forces, 2.48 percent, and all others, 1.98 percent. Although percentages are slightly different, this year's graduates listed almost the same intensions as those covered cov-ered in the 1968 study. Those who listed college as their first preference, were divided this way among the state's insitufions: University of Utah, 3,203; Brigham Young University, 2,235; Weber State College, 1,930;"" UtaH State University, 1,920; Dixie College, Col-lege, 584; Southern Utah State College, 545; Snow College, Col-lege, 371; College of Eastern Utah, 222, and Westminster College, 199. Out-of-State colleges col-leges were listed by 726 students stu-dents and 318 said they were undecided. |
