Show Week's Activities at Westminster chairmanship of Pauline Barkle was declared a great success by those in attendance. Costume prizes were awarded to William and Alice Day. Herbert Dunn, and George Hall. Dr. Harry Morehouse Gage, former president of Lindenwood College, St. Charles. Missouri, is visiting the Westminster College Col-lege campus this week as an educational consultant in regard to development as a four year senior college. He met with the faculty Monday and Tuesday evenings, spoke in Chapel Tuesday Tues-day and Wedsesday mornings and visited with the trustees and clubs to gain an impression of the work being accomplished at Westminister. Four new members were elected to fill vacancies in the Board of Trustees of Westminster Westmin-ster College at the annual Meeting Meet-ing on October 29. They are Charles L. Wheeler, president of Salt Lake Hardware Company; Dr. Elmer C. Adams, superintendent superin-tendent of the Baptist Church; and William S. Bar-wick, president presi-dent of Barwick and Company. President Emeritus H. W. Reherd was elected chairman of the Board for one year to succeed suc-ceed the late E. O. Howard, who had been a member of the Board of Trustees for thirty-two years. John M. Wallace was elected chairman of the executive committee. com-mittee. President Robert D. Steele announced an-nounced that more than half of the $25,000 maintenance fund which is needed for the current. two previous years, the S25.0O0 goal has been oversubscribed. At a meeting last Friday at which Maxine Calevas presided, cheer leaders were chosen by vote of the student body as follows: fol-lows: Arthur Hutchens. 100-1 Princeton Ave.: Mariece Matthew, Mat-thew, Salina. Utah: and Camille Gibson. 215 East 4th South. Their chief activity will begin at the start of the basketball season in about a month. Romain Snodgress was elected temporary chairman of the newly new-ly organized ski club at Westminster West-minster College. Committee chairman were: Pat Neaglez. emblem em-blem committee; Roy Marsh, instruction committee; and Jack Harrod, transportation' committee. commit-tee. The two representatives of the senior class, Rev. Jerry Ford, Salt Lake City, and Rev. Frank Schweissing of Evanston, Wyoming, Wy-oming, were declared winners in a Current Events quiz held recently re-cently under the direction of Dean J. S. Boughton. Other class representatives were Herbert Dunn and Fannie Zaharias, juniors; Walter Miller and Paul Cotro-Manes, sophomores; and Norman Chown and Camille Gibson, Gib-son, freshmen. The annual Masquerade Ball held November 1 under the year, has already been raised. The college administration and trustees are working together to secure subscriptions for the balance bal-ance before December 31. In the |
