Show I 1 I By Marlene Haws 826-4859 The Sons of the Utah Pioneers went to Boulder last week and had dinner at the Boulder Mesa Restaurant. Restau-rant. From there, they went to Grover to attend the last play of the season at the Hale Theatre. Those who attended were: Bob and Mavis Munson, Vergean and Carolyn Porter, Por-ter, Dan and Lois Spencer, Cal and Martha Schow, Howard and Sandra Miller, Al and Lani Barlow, Jerry and Sheree Roundy, Rob and Dorothy Do-rothy Simpson, Marvin and Gloria Porter, Gordon and Almeda Haycock, Hay-cock, and Hazel Spencer. Myron and Sanette Cottam and Reed and Karen Munson also attended the play that evening. Donnie Randall recently returned from a trip to Washinton, Ind. She also went to visit her niece, Vicky and husband Gene Henderson. The" Henderson's have a brand new baby girl (their third daughter). Donnie stayed for two weeks to help out. She said she really had a good time. Clorene Vidrine had company at her house. Her grandaughter, Jennifer Jenni-fer and husband Nathan Hadley came from Ogden and did a lot of yard work while they were visiting. After they were here, Clorene and Sylvia Luker went to St. George forClorene's doctor's appointment. They had lunch on Tuesday with Clorene's sister, Donette Lee, and her aunt Marian Foote, before returning re-turning home. LaVee Wiscombe, Mapleton, came to Panguitch last Saturday and brought her mother, Fay Alvey, home from the hospital. On Monday, Mon-day, Dot Coombs took Fay to Manila Ma-nila to stay with her for a while. Jim and Lola Alvey, Mapleton, came to check on Fay Alvey. They took Lola's mom, Eva Dean Lis-ton, Lis-ton, back with them for the blessing bless-ing of their grandchild, the new son of Jimmy and Amy Alvey. Lola brought Eva Dean back home on Monday. Elaine Franks Wassmer, Tay-lorsville, Tay-lorsville, visited at the home of Cal and Martha Schow. Elaine is a daughter of the late Edna Allen Franks. They lived here years ago in the old Allen home just west of Nellie Bailey. She and her brother Eugene visit here almost every summer. Eugene likes to camp at , I Posey Lake. Cal and Martha Schow are back home again. Martha had surgery and is doing well. They sold their home up north so they are here to stay now. They visited Alfred and Connie Jepsen in Boulder on Thursday last week. Deon Alvey picked Velma Boulter Boul-ter up at the hospital in Panguitch and took her to Cedar City. She saw a doctor there and was able to return home. She is out and about and walking really well already. Frank Alvey took Betty Alvey and Ruby Griffin to Cedar City for a checkup on their eyes. They both have had cataract surgery. Doug and Jeanette Braithwaite, Sunset, brought their family to spend Labor Day with Bill and Dawn Griffin. Ben and Renee Porter had their kids here over the weekend. Rebecca Luttrell and three children chil-dren of Texas visited at the home of Cecil and Carrie Griffin. Arden Taylor is still in the hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake City. Hope you are getting better, Arden. Dudley Spencer has been in the hospital in Salt Lake City again. He is back home and rarin" to go. Klyn and Marlene Haws and Patrice Pa-trice and Chad Cottam camped out at Posey Lake over the Labor Day weekend. Brent and Elissa Cottam, Lane and Geraldine Liston, and Emilee Liston joined them one evening for Marlene's birthday dinner. din-ner. Chad reeled in an 18-inch fish on Saturday. Needless to say, he was pretty excited! Klyn and Marlene ran across Ross and Nadine Shelley on the mountain and had a good visit with them. The Shelley's were down from Fairview for the day to fish and visit with their kids, Alan and Kathy Shelley and the grandkids. Bill and Bev Kuhns are camped at Posey Lake with a group of friends for their annual hunting trip. They seemed to be having a good time. The family of Norman and Ardis Christensen camped at Blue Spruce over the weekend and celebrated Norm's birthday. Greg and Beth Christensen hosted the party. Norm said he not only got a year older at the party, but a few pounds heavier. Vergean and Carolyn Porter are great-grandparents again. Jared and Holley Porter, Ogden, became the parents of a new baby boy, whose name is Riley McCade and was born on 9-9-99. Sloan and Vera-lynn Vera-lynn Porter, Midway, are the grandparents. grand-parents. Congratulations to the Porter family. Mary Lyman has been laid up with pneumonia.
