Show Uropkfkws By Lynn Munson 679-8627 Recently, 51 members of the Joseph Alma and Mabel Ott family met at the town park for a reunion. Attending were Royal and Rella Alvey, Florence Syrett and son Lance Syrett, Ron and Susan Harris and children Jocelyn, Jade, Kassen,, and Trevan, Afton Branch, Carol and Larry Cloward, and Kerry and JoNeil Alvey and sons Ryan and Joshua. Also attending from the Pollock family were Jack and Janet, Gayle and Marie Pollock and children chil-dren Kaitlin, Jacob, Janette and Natalie; Jean Chynoweth and daughter Shelly and grandson Jaden Chynoweth. Representing Louise and the late Stan Ott family were True and Joan Ott and family, Joe and Ann Ott and daughter Cottia and family. DeVar and Faye Pollock Pol-lock had son Marty and wife Dene Ott, daughter Luann, and family. Bob and Mira Loy Ott and Agnes Littlefield also attended. They had a very special family day together. Trayson Reed Hatch, son of Steven and Kirsten Hatch, was blessed by his father, in the Tropic LDS Ward Sacrament meeting last Sunday. There were many out-of-town friends and relatives here to welcome him. In Enoch on Sunday, Tyler Ber-dell Ber-dell Barton, son of Jared and Mindy Barton, was blessed by his father. Berdell and Carma Barton were in attendance, along with Brant and Shana Barton and family and Scott and Marie Barton and family. The rest of Berdell and Carina's family also attended, as well as Mindy' s family. Sam and LaRae Pollock had their daughter and son-in-law bring their newly adopted baby to meet the family. What a joyous occasion occa-sion for all. There were lots of out-of-town visitors over Labor Day weekend. Ramona Jolley Millet's son Ron Millet and his family were here visiting. Former residents Kay and Maureen Mangum, son Will, daughter Amy and her husband were here visiting with relatives and friends. Sharon and Robin Griffin of Monroe visited with parents Charlie and EvaDean Francisco and Robin's sister Sandrea. They spent the day in the mountains helping Charlie haul wood. Brother Lloyd Morten-sen Morten-sen of Parowan was here later in the week to help Sandrea with a water problem at her home. Visiting with grandparents Kent and Betty Wintch were Randy Kent Spence, wife Alice, and son Benjamin Benja-min of Springfield. They enjoyed a great weekend together. Rel Kay Sudweeks, wife Susie and children Skyler and Summer of Las Vegas were here visiting Rel Kay's parents, Dcrcll and Sara Lou . Sudweeks. Jack and Mae Chynoweth had all their children home for the weekend. Evans and Caroly Chynoweth, Christine and Jimmy Millin, all from St. George; and Deanna Linford from Magna, her daughter Randy and two foreign exchange students from Germany and Norway. Bob Joe and Randa Kay Ott also joined in for all the good visiting and good food. They , all worked together to harvest the garden, work in the yard, and clean house. Besides the pleasure of their company, they helped Jack and Mae so much. Bob and Randy are moved into their new home, which they purchased from Earl and Rachel Ra-chel Jolley. It must be nice to have more space. Dean Shakespear's wife Robin, two sons and one daughter-in-law were here with Malen and Marion Mecham. The boys participated in the annual Rim Rum held at Ruby's Inn. Lester and Vertis Clarke were visited by granddaughters Camille and husband Greg Crawford and three children of Riverton and Ad-rene Ad-rene and husband Draton Lamb and child of Vernal. Dixie Shakespear had as visitors Maude Riding DeMill and two friends, all from St. George. On Saturday afternoon, she went with John and Carolyn Luke, Ida Harmon Har-mon and a friend on a jaunt to Wilson Wil-son Peak and Tom Best Springs. They enjoyed the flowers and brush that were blooming, along with the views. Son Danny, wife Vickie, their son and daughter-in-law Kerry and Rachel, all of Cedar City, were overnight visitors. On Sunday, they also picked garden produce and did chores inside and out, which was a great help to Dixie. Gloria Hayden's daughter Eleanor and husband Bill Steeve were weekend visitors. They also saw grandmother Marva and Rosie Fletcher in Cannonville. Gloria and family toured Bryce Canyon and other remote areas and shopped at Ruby's Inn. They had a nice dinner with Bart and Peggy Palmer and family. Bill helped Bart in his field and helped to haul wood, also, (a popular pasttime right nowO Royal Alvey was taken, to Garfield Gar-field Memorial Hos;- -al by ambulance ambu-lance on Wednesday. He was there for several days, then returned home. He is doing better now. Keela Mangum threw a surprise birthday party for Cami Mangum on Sept. 6. There were lots of family fam-ily and many trail ride employees attending. Later in the week, Keela took her mother Iris Bushnell and aunt Doris Liles on a "joy ride" to Richfield and did some shopping. See TROPIC on page 6-A) TROPIC From page 5-A Shawn and Crystal Mortensen and family were in Parowan on Monday to watch their horses run. One took first place and the other horse took second. Other weekend visitors were Obie and June Shakespear's daughters daugh-ters Mavis Strebel and three boys from Murray and Nelda Brannon and six children from Cedar City. E.C. and LaRae Miles of Salt Lake City visited with brother Gail and wife Bonnie Miles. Hilma Haas took Nyle Richards to see his wife Merle in Richfield. She seemed to be in good spirits and greatly enjoyed the visit. Wallace and Mary Ott had son and wife Kim and Kathy Ott and grandson Rex Murdock and friend Valerie Deliastatious visiting over the weekend. Besides the good visit, they loaded up with goodies from Wallace and Mary's garden. |
