"If the girl were fine, I'd say 'yes,' but I think it is (better) the other way around,· he said. "It has always been that way, so it does not seem right [for girls to ask guys out). I am not one to break tradition.· Chris Hudson, a freshman theatre major from Hurricane, Utah, said it is OK for a girl to ask a guy out on a date. . "Personally, I feel that it is not bad at all," he said. · "A lot of guys, like me, grew up in a small town and are shy. I think that a girl asking a guy out gives us a · chance. Cofe Smith, a freshman pre-med major from Providence, Utah, agreed with Hudson. · · ·1 think it is good for a girl to ask out guys," he said. • As far as the girl not being respected, Hudson believes this shouldn't be a consideration. Sr:riith said that as long as they don't appear desperate, then girls should be able to ask without reservation or concern for their image.
