Show STRIKE IN RUBY HILL TUNNEL john L williams and dan davies wh who contracted with the ruby hill tunnel mining company last month to extend the s south buth crosscut in the tunnel twenty feet this week broke in to the side of what looks like a chamber of ore the side being all iron with a good deal of soft t and broken up lime this looks very favorable for a large chamber of ore the strike was mude made just as williams and davies were finishing their contract but the company will put men to work the first of next week to prospect the new find the south crosscut of the ruby hill tunnel where the new find was made is in a distance of 1700 feet and at a depth of 0 f feet from the surface in the prospect Moun mountain lain tunnel which is south of the ruby hill tunnel about 1000 feet at a distance of 1800 feet from the mouth of the tunnel a large body of rich ore which amounted to over was extracted several years ago by lew dunkle john kitchen and others although litigation has prevented work in the prospect mountain tunnel for years there is still ore in that tunnel and there is no reason why the ruby hill tunnel should not produce as large and rich bodies of ore as the prospect tunnel there is no good reason why the west side of prospect mountain should not prove equally as productive as the east side where the diamond excelsior and others mines have been large producers of ore during ther the last awen twenty ty years sentinel eureka nev |
