Show STRIKE IN THE BELMONT bonanza tonopah To nev one of the most important strikes for some time in the camp is that in the foot level of the belmont beamont which was ma made de this week between four and five feet of high grade ore has been opened bip up and crosscutting cross cutting is still progressing in order to determine the full width and average value of the ledge from the level a short distance north of the shaft a drift feet long has been run almost due east at the farther end of the drift driff a crosscut cross cut was run north feet and this has cut a four foot vein of high grade ore the vein has been drifted on for something over feet and for the entire distance has preserved a fairly uniform width and value of ore the present breast shown shows the ledge with the usual northerly dip and having the same general characteristics of the mizpah veins of which it is one of the extensions work is now being pushed easterly on this vein the crosscut cross cut which passed through this ledge was continued on to the north and at a distance of eight feet another vein has just been struck this is the vein to which so much importance attaches up to last night four feet of ore has been cut while the north wall has not been reached this vein seems to lie rudely parallel to its sister vein eighty feet to the south and contains similar ore to that of the oddie mountain ledges and has about the same general strike if any anything thin it stands more nearly perpendicular A considerable amount of the ore contains the rich black sulphides sulp hides which are so universally high grade these two veins now show a measurable body of ore farther to the east than anything yet developed in oddle oddie mountain while their locus reveals the vein system with its ores well under and indeed a trifle past the apex of the mountain excepting that it lies somewhat south perhaps GOO feet of the flagpole |
