lake ke city utah died february 14 1895 I 1 in n morgan city utah she leaves a ISM family 11 of eight children including two it litile til twin babes and a hoat boat of 01 relatives and d friends to mourn her sudden departure she died as she lived a good latter day saint communicated LYDIA L LEWIS departed this life on february 1896 1895 Lydia laurette Lewis aged 26 years yeara 7 months and 12 day days a the beloved wife of william A lewis of oxford idaho and daughter of henry N and elizabeth W howell the cause of death was inflammation flam fiam mation of the bowels deceased was a faithful latter day saint and died in the hope of a glorious resurrection with the just forty two sleighs followed hex her remains to their last resting place W D HOBBS JUN PAROWAN feb 26 1895 wm D hobbs jun son of mary A and wm D hobbs was born october at hersham Hers bam surrey england he emigrated to utah in 1861 located in parowan carowan Pa rowan iron county where he resided for many years and where he has relatives and friends Iri ends that have the deepest regard for abe honesty and nd the integrity so predominant in his nature A few years since he moved to wilford fremont county idaho where his labors have been abundantly blessed for many months he has been a great sufferer from a cancer upon his hia lower hip which was entirely eaten off and finally terminated his sojourn on earth february 16 1894 he leaves a wife and seven children besides numerous other relatives his aged 41 parents are still living and the ti tidings dingis of their sons death was a heavy blow to them yet they comfort themselves with the assurance they have that their boy is now enjoying the reward of the faithful and enjoying the companionship of those who he has labored to redeem in the temple of the living god communicated WILLIAM 0 murrhy brother william columbus murphy of salina sevier county utah departed this life on the morning of the day of february 1895 irom from the effects of bone from which he suffered but twelve days brother murphy was a son of the late emanuel M murphy of mill creek salt lake county and Nanc nancy judd murphy now living there he e was born in fayette county georgia on april it 1842 was baptized and confirmed a member of the church of jesus christ of latter latler dav saints in the month of M may a 1857 by elder hyrum F blackwell was ordained an elder in the tall fall of f lk and became a member of the twenty third quorum of seventies may 16 1863 being ordained to that office by brother charles lambert then president of the quorum he was called to perform a mission to arizona in january 1876 and left american fork on the third day of february following in obedience to the call from which mission he be was honorably released the following year 1877 on account of failing health he then moved with his family to charleston provo valley where he remained nearly tour four yeara officiating as ward teacher most of the time while there in the year 1881 he moved to salina sevier county where he be lived enjoying but indifferent health to the time of his death he was called to act in the bishopric as first counselor to bishop jens jensen in 1883 which position he faithfully filled until the resignation of bishop jensen in the fall of 1887 two years of the time he was acting bishop during the absence of bishop jensen he died as he be had lived a faithful latter day saint in the full hope of a glorious resurrection brother murphy leaves a wife nane children five grandchildren and a host boat of friends to mourn his loss lose communicated HYRUM ff BARLOW the funeral services were held over the remains of brother hyrum H bar barlow low at the bountiful meeting house on wednesday at 11 am brother barlow was waa the son of israel barlow and lucy heath and was born august 30 1864 at bountiful davis county utah and at an early age was called to labor as a teacher in the ward and as such he manifested an earnestness and it a zeal most commendable and was regarded as one of the most faithful workers in the ward he labored as a home missionary in the davis stake for many years and in this calling proved his devotion to the cause of trutha truth faithfully performing every duty filling every appointment and taking great pleasure and satisfaction in the labors of the priesthood he was of a kind and gen ta tie e disposition all who knew him loved him he was never known to quarrel with any one but wherever he went all with whom he became acquainted seemed to enjoy the genial influence of his kindly nature his health lor for years was of a delicate nature and in the more recent past he grew much worse on which account he went to afton wyoming where he died feb firm in the faith ot of the gospel of peace at the services all the speakers bore testimony of his faithfulness and devotion and of his stern integrity to the truth and paid to his memory a high tribute of praise he leaves a wife two children a mother and many friends to mourn his death he was the president of the Y M M MI 1 A of the afton ward in the star valley stake also the head teacher of the intermediate department of the sabbath school in each of which he labored diligently and was well oLed and loved by all those with whom he was as socia ted his unassuming nature and pleasant manners won for him many friends he was kind alike to the old and young and would suffer wrong at all times rather than iban impose upon anyone communicated JOSEPH ALMA BARTON at greenville utah february from a complication of diseases joseph alma barton probate judge of beaver county alter after a short abort but severe illness of eight days passed peacefully and calm ly away away at two pm though suffering intense pain at times he be bore his hie afflictions affliction ts patiently to the last he frequently called upon the elders to 10 administer to him and everything that kind friends and aad loving hands could do to alleviate his bis sufferings was done he leaves a grief stricken wife and three sons son father and mother brothers and sisters and a host of friends who mourn his loss in fact the whole community are heart stricken he was a leading character among the people a good neighbor kind and affable to all an affectionate father and a kind and loving husband the community will greatly miss him joseph alma barton was the son of william and esther west barton born february 1 1148 iz 48 at See banon st clair county ill he was blessed when beighl days old by jonathan C wright and he came to utah with his parents in 1851 and settled in parowan carowan Pa rowan when eight years old he was baptized a member ol of the church ot of jesus christ of latter day saints in ISM 1868 his father with six other brethren was called by president dbrig ham young to go to minersville Miners ville to produce lead from thence the family moved to beaver where he grew up to manhood in 1866 he performed a mis mission siola to the missouri river after the emigration in captain sam whites train re H was an officer in the utah militia and took an active part in the black rawl hawk war he was a student of the B Y academy and had a practical education he was appointed deputy marshal by U 8 marshal maxwell and served two years af after ler which he married and settled in greenville where he hold held vari various oll offices of trust in the precinct he hewa was county select selectman nian for two years and was waa probate judge at the be time of his death not considering himself a member of th the church he be took no particular interest I 1 in church matters until recently but did not oppose he frequently attended meet meeting bug and was a member of the Y M M 1 I ain which he took an active part about ten days before his death lie he de livered a lecture to the public from the book of mormon SOMO some fifteen mo months before his demise he burled buried hi his a loving lovine and only daughter a beautiful girl sixteen years ox 01 age which seemed to work woric 1 a change in his heart and turn hi him ra to the lord which was manifested by the fact that his bis family were all baptized and he him himself a elf
