Show Georgio designs as City Commissioner City Suggests State Take Marsac Leaving Main One-Way Street March 3, 1972 ACTING MAYOR Lehmer presided over this meeting. Councilmen present were: Robert Burns Jr., Clements P. Hansen and Richard Martinez. Councilman Hays was out of town, and Mayor Sullivan was working. Others present were Attorney Turner, Marshal Mc-Alevy, Mc-Alevy, and Supervisor Georgio. Minutes of the previous meeting meet-ing were read and approved. The correspondence was read and filed for future reference. A letter from the Attorney to Greater Park City concerning concern-ing water and sewer connection charges was read and discussed. dis-cussed. Mr. Georgio will contact con-tact the Company Engineers and check on size of pipe etc. Letters will be sent to several persons for unsanitary conditions condi-tions on the streets and littering litter-ing of garbage. Citations will be issued if the letters have no effect. ef-fect. LICENSES for three rentals were reviewed. They were ap-p ap-p roved tentatively pending Planning Commission approval and checks made on parking areas. Mr. Don Millicam was present pres-ent to report on the progress made by the Main Street Improvement Im-provement Group. He reported the group had met with State Road Representative, Represent-ative, Guintin Adair to discuss improving the snow removal and maintenance of Main Street and Marsac Avenue. They . recommended having the State take over Marsac and make it a two-way paved road and that Park City take Main Street as a city road and making it a one way street. The proposition was discussed. COUNCILMAN Martinez told Mr. Millicam that Park City had taken Main Street as a city road back in 1968 and 1969. They found they could not afford to keep up the maintenance of the street and had asked the State to take it back as a State Highway. The City had neither the equipment nor the funds to keep the street open properly. Nothing definite was decided. The State has asked for an answer ans-wer by May 1, 1972. SETTING UP a special improvement im-provement district to improve parking and the road behind Main Street was discussed. The Group and the Attorney will contact the State and Federal Governments for information on funds and the use of such funds. The Ccincil agreed to try patching some of the holes in the streets with hot mulch, as the gravel is not holding. And it was also agreed that something some-thing definite had to be done this year about the drainage from the Resort parking lot on Empire Avenue. Councilman Hansen reported he and Councilman Burns and Mayor Sullivan had met with the County Commissioner and had discussed the proposed Police Protection Plan, and had been informed the County has nothing to sell Park City in this regard. SHERIFF ROBINSON was not in favor of the proposition at this time. Councilman Bob Burns submitted sub-mitted three bids for the pick-up truck. After a discussion, the Council voted to purchase the truck from Mawhinney Motor. Setting up a Fire District for Park City was explained by the City Attorney, The Council agreed that without funds to take care of the surrounding area, they were going to be forced to provide some way to service Park City Only. The attorney will check with County officials on details. SUPERVISOR GEORGIO reported re-ported he will resign March 15. instead of April as first announced. an-nounced. Mr. Georgio reported a representative rep-resentative of John Mansville Co. was here on Wednesday with the city e ngi nee r, John Prob-asco, Prob-asco, to make tests on the treatment treat-ment plant for future expansion. The tests were made for the U.S. environmental control. Reports Re-ports will be sent to the city. The City Council wishes to take this opportunity to publicly thank Mr. Georgio for his years of service to the City. He will be missed very much and we all wish him good health and many long years of retirement. The payroll for the period Feb. 16, to 29, was $2,742.60. THE JUSTICE reports shows there were 95 cases heard, 5 illegal consumption, 2 driving under the influence of alcohol, 58 overnight parking, 11 parking in no parking zone, 1 petty larceny, lar-ceny, 1 angle parking, 1 driving on a revocation, 3 parking in the police zone, lblockingthe intersection, inter-section, 1 reckless driving, 1 (Continued on Page Five) City Council (Continued from Page One) double parking, lblovking roadway, road-way, 1 speeding, 1 with no drivers driv-ers license, 1 complaint served. $1,056 was collected in court fines, $1.20 was collected for service charges, making a total of $1,057.20 collected for February. Marshal McAlevy submitted the following report for February: Feb-ruary: 183 citations were issued is-sued for the following violations 108 overnight parking, 28 parking park-ing in no parking zone, 5 blocking block-ing the street, 4 parking in Police Zone, 4 blocking the driveway, 4 speeding, 4 with no drivers license, 4 parked against traffic, 3 double parking, park-ing, 3 with expired sticker, 3 blocking fire hydrants, 3 driving driv-ing under the influence of alcohol, 1 improper lookout, 1 failure to keep vehicle under control, 1 involved in an accident. ac-cident. The Library report show there were 234 books and 19 magazines circulated, 17 used reference books, $1.17 was collected col-lected in fines and there were 245 visitors at the Library, and it was open 24 days in February.
