' 4j - Great Talent and Ability Seen in Snow Sculpture A whole new settlement arose out of the snow field down near the Three Kings when the Coca Cola Sculpture Contest took place on Saturday, March 4 there were people and animals and birds and trains; a couple man; the Park City Arts Foundation Found-ation had a large group who did a combination of animals, each of which had a distinct personality all its own! The sponsors confided that next year they would award more than one prize in different categories so that the solo artist would have a chance to win instead in-stead of competing against the combined efforts of a group. of dinosaurs showed up and a centaur and some gargoyles were there. These were the creations of dozens of folks who came to work in the snow. They began early in the morning and the top winner was announced shortly after four o'clock. Most were winners of many complimentary remarks; some were pure fancy; some showed real artistic ability. All the sculptures took time, imagination imagina-tion and ingenuity; one group fashioned a huge carton of eggs, each egg about 18 inches long; another a beautiful eagle with wings spread wide. Park City was represented by Kit Flannery who worked alone and sculptured a lovely nudewo- |
