The Great pyramid of Egypt contains about 2300 blocks of stone, and the stones average ; more than two tons each. j. $2,500,000 ALLOCATION FOR AQUEDUCT Officials of the Provo River Waterusers' association and civic leaders in Provo and Salt Lake City, generally, were highly elated today over the announcement of a PWA allocation of $3,000,000 to the Deer Creek project. The allocation al-location was part of a total of $30,500,000 to western reclamation projects. By far the greater portion of the allocation, or $2,500,000, was assigned for the Salt Lake valley aqueduct. This is practically one-half one-half of the total cost of the aqueduct aque-duct project, to be built to carry Salt Lake City's portion of the Deer Creek yield from the dam. Blood Is Pleased J. W. Gillman of Orem, president presi-dent of the waterusers' association, associ-ation, said the allocation would enable the project to get off to an excellent start on both the dam and the aqueduct, and probably make it possible to double the number of men employed. He said the allocation goes a long ways toward making up the difference . between the amount originally asked and the amount appropriated by congress. Governor Blood was equally jubilant, stating that the allotment allot-ment was most gratifying news. He expressed appreciation to the members of Utah's congressional delegation who have worked diligently dili-gently to obtain funds for Utah's largest reclamation project. Robinson Lauded . Fisher Harris, attorney for the Salt Lake City metropolitan water wa-ter district, mentioned especially the work of Congressman ,J. W. |
