disappeared from the city and his whereabouts where-abouts arc not known Some time ago Mr Mills of Helena revenue collector for this district asked for Terrances resignation I and i not being forthcoming was dismissed dis-missed and his successor appointed last Monday Upon examination his accounts II were short toquite an amount and he disappeared dis-appeared Terranco cut quite a swath Lucca Squires who was indicted by the last grand jury for using the United States mails for iraudu lent purposes in the educational bureau scandaL I seems that Mr Squires organ ized an educational bureau and sent out circulars to various persons in different diIerent parts of the United Steles containing false statements as to the number of teachers demanded in Idaho snd the wages paid It is reported that in answer to these circu lars Mr Squires received quite i a sum of money from teachers who desired t make application for positions in this state The II matter was widely discussed by tho Idaho I papers last fall Air Squires was arrested at New Orleans after his indictment and pave bonds for his appearance at this term of court He is expected to arrive in this city atari early day Sensational develop meats implicating several other people of I this city nay be looked for when this case it called Surveys for the new ditch to be constructed con-structed jointly by tho state and Boise City are being made It was thought at first I that the ditch could be taken out about four I miles above the city but it is reported now that they will have to run at least seven I miles above and possibly twelve in order to bring the ditch into the city In this cty I case the cost will be largely augmented The city fathers are determined however I to own a ditch with which to run an elec tric light plant and also to irrigate tho city The ditch will be used also to make produc I five the sterile grounds belonging to the I penitentiary Convict labor will be used only in the construction
