True, Lehi lost its second straight game on Oct. 12 at Uintah, but the Pioneers bounced back to on the Canyon View win Falcons' Cedar City soccer field By Dean 5-- 0 on Oct. 14. Going into the Uintah game in Vernal, Lehi was a second-plac- e team in Region 10. However, Uintah's Bridgette Dart kicked in the game's only goal which made Lehi enter the state playoffs as a team. The Pioneers played like a championship team on Canyon View's field, however. Lehi Coach Brett Bergholm said, "'We had trouble scoring in our last two region games. So we worked on angle shots and shots from way out." Lehi had difficulty getting a goal during the first 20 minutes of the Canyon View game. Falcon goalie April Cox plucked off every good shot the Pioneers take at the Canyon View goal net. Her excellent interception skills couldn't remain perfect, however. At 20:13, senior Alisha Kolowich kicked in the fourth-seede- d first Lehi goal. Brady Davis placed second in team roping and third in saddle bronc riding; other team roping winners included Bret Christensen in seventh place and the team of Trent Clement and Matt Ramone in ninth place. Riley Jonsson placed fifth in steer wrestling and Wyatt Hunter finished seventh in calf roping. In girls events, Jennifer Freeland took seventh in breakaway roping and tenth in goat tying. Piute Rodeo Wyatt Hunter won in steer wrestling, with Trent Clement taking eighth in the same event. Megan Jensen finished in second place in girls cow cutting and Danny Blackhurst occupied the same position in bareback riding. Shane Cook placed seventh in individual calf roping, and in Lehi's Hollie Bronson vies with a Canyon View player in state octafinal action on Oct. 14. Going into yesterday's final region game in with Wasatch, the Pioneers were Region X and ranked fifth in the state. Interregion playoffs will be held this weekend, and the state torunament is scheduled for Oct. 30 and 31 at Utah Valley State College in Orem. On Oct. 7, Lehi beat Salt Lake Christian 15-15-in a matchup. They 15-- 8 on the easily topped Park City 13th, and completed their week with an 15-15-triumph at Carbon. At SLC, Lacey Yates paced the Pioneers with 11 kills. Kim Allan added 15 assists and Callie Trane 14 digs. Lacy Atkinson stepped in to play for Stacey Johnson against the Miners and had a great game, contributing 5 aces, 3 digs and a block. Natalie Nelson had 6 digs, 2 blocks and 2 kills. At Carbon, Allan racked up 23 assists and 6 digs to lead the way. Nelson added 7 kills, 12 digs and 3 blocks while Yates added 5 kills, 10 digs and 2 blocks.
