Show BLM awards contracts for Wild Burros The Bureau of Land Management has awarded contracts for the roundup of wild burros to the National Wild Horse Assocation, Las Vegas, and Henry Rice of Logandale, Nevada. John Boyles, BLM District Manager, said that the roundups will be made in the Blue Diamond area and Moapa Valley and will start sometime next week. The burros are causing damage to private property at both locations. About 25 burros will be . removed from the Moapa Valley and 6-10 from Blue Diamond. Boyles said that applications are now being received by BLM from private individuals who- are interested in providing homes for the animals. Anyone wanting a burro should write to BLM at Box 5400, Las Vegas, NV 89102 or stop by their office at 4765 W. Vegas Drive. The applications will be screened by the Nevada Wild Horse Association and BLM. In the event more applications are received than the number of burros available, a drawing will be held. Mr. Richard O. Baker, a member of Wild Horse Organized Assistance Incorporated In-corporated and Walter Clutts of the Nevada Wild Horse Association have volunteered to serve as monitors of the roundups. roun-dups.
