Show New Harmony News By Marva Prince Mr. and Mrs. Fred Oxborrow of Salt Lake City, visited one day last week with Sally and Anton Pace. Mrs. Viola W. Kelsey and Mrs. Vada P. Grant visited in Cedar City Friday with Mrs. Grant's sister, Mrs. Horace Hall. Vivian and Marva Prince visited in New Castle Saturday with Vivian's sister and her family, Mrs. Bea Watson. Bea is formerly from New Harmony. Mrs. Jean Carter and four daughters of Minersville visited with Jean's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthon Pace. On their return trip home Sunday, Mrs. Pace accompanied Mrs. Carter to Enoch, where they attended a testimonial for Mr. and Mrs. Dick Williams. Mrs. Williams is the former Pearl Pace, she is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Pace. The Williams have been called to the Louisana, Baton Rouge Mission by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. and Mrs. Dean H. Hall visited in Logandale, Nev. with Mrs. Hall's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prince. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Prince have just returned from a week's stay in California. While there, they visited with their daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Hal Torgersen and family and with friends of the Princes'. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Ocal Williams of Henderson Nev. accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Prince from Nevada to New Harmony on the Prince's return trip from California. The Williams spent the week-end in New Harmony. Mr. Williams and Mrs. Prince are brother and sister. Eldon and Olive Schmutz attended at-tended the wedding ceremony of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Cardon on Thursday, Jan. 8. Gene and his lovely wife were united in marriage at the St. George LDS Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Prince, their children Elwin, Gary and Deanna, and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Prince and daughters Elizabeth, Linda and Talonnie attended a birthday gathering for the Prince's daughter-in-law, Mrs. Suzie Prince. They all met at the home of Suzie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harland Walker in Cedar City last week. They were accompanied by Mr. Robert Groke of Rockville. Robert is the future son-in-law of the Vivian Prince family. Dean H. Hall and his son-in-law Herbert Schlosser are spending a week in Salt Lake City with Dean's son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Weston Hall and Trever. Mr. and Mrs. Anthon Pace visited in St. George Friday with Mrs. Pace's mother, Mrs. Olive Blake. The Pace's took in a session at the LDS Temple while in St. George. Several of our Town people attended the wedding reception in Cedar City of Mr. and Mrs. Bob (Robert W.) Harnois. Mr. Harnois used to drive our school bus. Mrs. Harnois is the former Lynne Thorley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Thorley of New Harmony. Mr. and Mrs. J. Reed Prince and daughter, Mrs. Lureda Gordon and family of Logandale, Nev. visited here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Prince and daughter Kara visited Sunday at the home of Roland's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Prince and family. They also visited with the Lowell Prince family. Miss Deanna Prince visited in Rockville, Saturday at the home of Mrs. Virginia Groke and children, Robert, Karen and Richard. Later in the day, Robert accompanied Miss Prince home and spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Prince family. Marva and Sharon Prince, Sharon's daughter Talonnie and Mrs. Leland Taylor (Esta) attended at-tended their sewing club in Cedar City at the home of Mrs. Hollis Blake. Mrs. Camilla Prince visited in St. George at the home of her sister, Mrs. Albert Harrison. Camilla also attended temple sessions at the St. George Temple. Miss Carolyn Bess, and Diane Huskins of Cedar City spent the night here with their good friends Linda and Elizabeth Morris. They were here to help Linda celebrate her 10th birthday. Mrs. Margurite N. Mecham of Milford, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mathews and daughters of St. George, and Mr. and Mrs. James D. Neilson and family of New Harmony spent the day with their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Emma Nelson. Aunt Emma (as her friends call her) celebrated her 87th birthday on January 14th. Many family and friends called to wish her many happy returns of the day. Aunt Emma is loved by all. Many of the towns people attended at-tended the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Cardon. Gene has spent a lot of time down here during the summer. Neldon Huntsman, son of Bishop and Mrs. Cannon Huntsman, Hunt-sman, spent two days in the Valley View Medical Center. i |
