Show Juvenile Gun Laws Outlined To Interested Parents Parents of children interested in-terested in guns and shooting shoot-ing should familiarize themselves with the laws regarding possession and use of firearms. This is especially true for parents who are planning to give their children firearms for Christmas. Utah law prohibits the selling or giving of firearms fire-arms to any person under 14 years of age. Another section of the law prohibits prohib-its the use of firearms by anyone under 14 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Utah Fish and Game regulations allow al-low juveniles 12 years of age or older to hunt small game if accompanied by an adult.
