A committee from the plumbers uuion informed The Times this morning that the strike is no nearer settlement than upon the day when the sixty-eight men employed em-ployed at the different shops ir.ade their demands of $-1.50 a day for eight hours work. Two of the strikers returned to work for I). James at the old scale of 4, but it is thought they will not continue con-tinue at this scale. |
