Show FAIOIKKS IN CONVKNTION. Mlmicmota Tillnrs ot the Soil Will Nominate a State Ticket. Sr. Tai l, Minn., July 10. Special. -i-Tho Minnesota Farmers' Alliance, representing 45,000 farmers, met here in convention today to nominate state, congressional, and legislative tickets. Robert J. Hall, president of the alliance, alli-ance, said the movement was not against Governor Merriam, but they wanted a governor who will appoint a railroad commission-that will squeeze the railroads until there is no watered stock left in them. Ho expected their ticket would be elected, as the farmers wotdd vole unanimously for it, ami they would, he thought, be supported by the labor vote. Now that a complete com-plete Farmers' Alliance ticket is to be in the field, there is deep interest aud speculation in the old parties. The state has liOO.OOO votes. Of these 7o,IR)0 are in the cities of St. Paul, Minneapolis, Minneapo-lis, Duluih, Winona and Stillwater. The other 185,000 are largely in fanning fann-ing communities. It is regarded us doubtful which of the threo parties will w in on the state ticket, but (ho alliance is pretty certain to secure two congressmen. |
