Show DAVID CANNON IS HONOKEO ON 7Sth 15IRTHDAY, THURSDAY A party honoring David H. Cannon Can-non on his 76th birthday was given giv-en at the family home last Thursday Thurs-day evening. It was attended by fifty-two cf his close 'relatives. The main event of the evening was the cutting of the birthday cake which held 7 6 candles. Mr. Cannon was born in Salt Lake City October 15, 1860 and came to St. George with his parents, par-ents, December 2, 1861 when they were called to help fettle this Dixie country. He received his education here and worked on the St. George Temple. Later he filled a mission to the Southern States laboring in Arkansas and Texas. He was Bishop's Councelor to Thomas P. Cottam in the Fourth ward here in 18 88-1889. His life has been an active one and he is now an employee at the St. George Temple where he is always al-ways greeted by his many -friends. Mrs. Cannon, although in rather poor health, and unable to get. out much, is surrounded by a host cf friends also. They are the parents par-ents of nine children, eight of whom are still living. |
