Show ST. GEORGE B. P. W. ATTEND DISTRICT MEET AT CEDAR Nearly twenty-five members of the St. George Business and Professional Pro-fessional Women's club attended the district conference held at the El Escalante hotel in Cedar City cn Sunday afternoon. State officers who attended the district meet were Miss Grace Cheever of Provo, state president, Mrs. Olive Hansen, of Richfield, first vice-president; Miss Rhea Taylor, of Salt Lake City, corresponding corres-ponding secretary; and Maude Beeley Jacobs, instructor at the B. Y. U., guest speaker. Mrs. Jacobs in addressing the audience stressed the importance of women's place in the world and urged women to acquaint themselves them-selves with all economic, social, and political events in order to be able to help solve problems arising aris-ing around them. Musical numbers furnished by the Cedar City club chorus, piano solo, by Miss Clara Woodhouse, St. George, and a trio from the St. George club composed of the Misses Mis-ses Katharine Clark, Irene Cox, and Ruth Winsor, accompanied by Mrs. Mae Pace. Readings were .given by Miss Florence Oppenn of Cedar City adn Mrs. Irma Sand-berg Sand-berg of St. George. Club reports were given by Mrs. Gladys Mc-Connell Mc-Connell of Cedar City and Mrs. Hazel Simpson of St. George. |
