Show Alfred Willard Lund Buried in Paragonah PARAGONAH, Utah. Funeral services were held in the Paragonah Para-gonah ward chapel Tuesday, Feb. 29th, for Alfred Willard Lund, 83, well-known Dixie pioneer, who died in a hospital in Basic, Nev., Saturday, Feb. 26th, following surgery. He had been ill two weeks. Born, Oct. 27, 1860, in West Jordan, near Salt Lake City, he was a son of Wilson and Ellen Sorenson Lund. He came to the Dixie Cotton mission with his parents in 1862, later going with them to Hebron, thence to Pine Valley and eventually to Paragonah. Para-gonah. He was married to Minerva Susan Terry in the St. George Temple in 1894. They were the parents of six children, four of whom survive, Mrs. Lund having died in June, 1922. The survivors include two sons, Willard Lund and Terry Lund, both of Paragonah; Para-gonah; two daughters, Mrs. Jack McAllister of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Owen Cox of Basic, Nev., and several grandchildren. Always an active L.D.S. church worker, he has devoted his time to gathering genealogy and doing do-ing Temple work in St. George and Salt Lake City for more than 20 years. |
