Show LaVERKIN Pansy L. Hardy Reporter J. Edward Gubler and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gubler made a trip to Salt Lake City last week, the latter two remaining to visit their daughters, Mrs. Mansel Scow and Mrs. Harvey Dalton. Word has been received this week of the birth of twin sons to Mr. and Mrs. Scow. Mrs. Maria Bowers and son, Grant, were visitors this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Hardy. Mrs. Sarah A. Sanders visited in Cedar City this week. A friendship shower was given last Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Morris Wilson honoring Mrs. Paul Wilson. An enjoyable afternoon after-noon was reported. Mrs. Harriet Hardy was honored hon-ored Saturday at her home with a surprise birthday anniversary party. A large crowd attended and Mrs .Hardy was the recipient of many gifts. W. Tell Gubler, field scout executive ex-ecutive was transferred recently from the northern to the southern Utah district. His district now includes the Virgin and Moapa valleys in Nevada, and the area from Nephi south in Utah, with his headquarters at Cedar City. He spent the week end in La-Verkin La-Verkin visiting with his children. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Stevens and family are moving to La-Verkin La-Verkin to take care of their orchards. The preparation meeting for the Primary officers was held recently re-cently at the home of Mrs. Ar-della Ar-della Duncan with Mrs. Harriet Woodbury as co-hostess. Lessons were given by Mrs. Woodbury and Rosalba Fuller, with February Febru-ary holiday ideas featured in the program. The value of "Standard Works of the Church", was the theme featured in Sunday Sacrament Sacrament services with Rolland and Ruby Webb and George Jones as the speakers. Curtis and Ned Leavitt and Odean Bamum, all of Mesquite, were week end visitors in La-Verkin. La-Verkin. Seaman Mack Judd, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Judd, formerly of LaVerkin and now of St. George, visited in LaVerkin last Sunday. The LaVerkin Elders' quorum sponsored an excursion to the St. George Temple last Thursday, 21 attending. LaVerkin Deacons had a rousing rous-ing good party last Wednesday evening.
