Show rr PAJNT Application for Patent. (Notice No. 1392.1 United States Land Office, Salt Lake Cmr, Utah, January 11, 1886. NOTICE 13 HEREBY GIVEN. THAT Charles E. Mitchener, E. P. Mitchener and John P. Kelly, of Stockton, in Tooele County, Utah Territory, have made application for a United States Patent for the Contention Lode mining claim, situate in Rush Valley Mininjr District, Tooele county, Utah Territory, consisting consist-ing of 1,454 linear feet of the lode, and surface ground 200 feet wide, being Lot No. 87, and described de-scribed in the field notes and plat of the official survey on file in this office, with magnetic mag-netic variation at 17 degrees cast, as follows-Commencing follows-Commencing at the discovery point of the said claim, and running thence S 73 degrees E 304 feet to the center of the eastern end line of the claim, and thence N 17 degrees K 100 feet to Post No. 1; thence S 17 degrees W 200 feet to Post No. 2; thence N 73 degrees W 1,083 feet to Post No. 3; thence N 88 degrees 58 minutes W 366.6 feet to Post No. 4; thence N 17 degrees K 200 feet to Post No. 5; thence S 88 degrees 58 minutes E 337.4 feet to Post No. 6; thence S 73 degrees E 1,116 feet to Post No. 1 of the exterior boundary lines of the surface ground of the said claim, containing contain-ing an area of 5.223 acres, inclusive of conflict with Lot 53, the Quandary claim, 0.011 acres, and after excluding therefrom the areas in conflict con-flict with Lot 54, the Katherine claim, 0.514 acres; Lot 64, the Emerald claim, 0.021 acres, and Lots 67 and 80, the Silver Queen and Governor Gov-ernor Murray claims, 0.918 acres. From Post No. 3 of the said Contention claim U. S. M. M. No. 3 bears S 32 degrees 16 minutes W 1,526.7 feet distant. The said mining claim being of record in the office of the Recorder of said mining min-ing district, at Stockton, in Tooele County, Utah. The nearest known locations being the Emerald, Emer-ald, Governor Murray, Katherine and Boston No. 2. mining claims. I direct that this notice be published in the Salt Lake Evening Democrat, the newspaper published nearest the said mining claim, for the period of sixty days. II. McMASTER, Register.
