The National Cattle and Horse Growlers' Grow-lers' Association of ' the United States, '' hold their second convention in St. Louis, Mo., November 23d, 1885. AH Western and Southwestern railroads terminating ter-minating at St. Louis have made a rate of one-half fare for the round trip, and Eastern roads have issued one and one-third fare for delegates, members of the association and their ; families attending the convention, .blank certificates have been issued to be filled out bv the goer and presented to uie ticket agent for endorsement, after which the through ticket will be endorsed by the secretary of the convention to secure a return. Utah delegates .leave Ogden on the 19th instant. Programmes of business to be enacted m convention have been sent this office. Among the various subjects of addresses and topics for discussion are the following: follow-ing: The cattle industry of the - United States. The range country our common inheritance. The movement of cattle from south to north.. - r.i ', ':. . Transportation and shipping. - The Norman horse industry in America. Foreign trade and commerce in cattle. Branding Its history and effect. The Press Its relation to the Cattle and Horse Industry, besides a dozen other broad and ; absorbing topics. - The selected entertainment committee of some fifty gentlemen - from all I parts of the country, - announce that the series of entertain ments, for which provision has been made, will be given during the meeting and will embrace the distribution of souvenir badges ; a grand ball and promenade prom-enade concert and presentation of sou-venire sou-venire programmes ; musical and theatrical theatri-cal performances, in the Grand Music Hall of the Exposition; special attractions at the different theatres; grand illumination of the Exposition building and promenade boulevard ; military, mil-itary, ciyic and other parades ; the celebrated cele-brated cow-boy band : grand pyrotechnic display and parade by the St. Louis Athletic Ath-letic and Flambeau Club, etc., etc. ( Every one going from Utah is anxiously anx-iously awaiting the grand treat in store, and many persons will avail themselves of the proffered feast. |
