Show ,11 rs. Hancock Prostrated. New Yobk, February 25. Since the f a-neral a-neral of General Hancook Mrs. Hancook has been confined to her room with a serious attack of nervous prostration. She is stopping stop-ping at the house of Lieut. Giiffen, where she is tenderly cared for. Dr. Janeway, the post surgeon, has ordered quiet and repose, and only a few of the large number of friends who have called since her bereavement bereave-ment are permitted to see her. It will be some weeks before she will thoroughly regain re-gain her strength. She will remain on Governor's Gov-ernor's Island until another commander is appointed, some time in March. She will then, if her health permits, return to her home at St. Louis, or take up apartments in New York City. |
