Show The American Lady Doctor. The London Medical Press learns that "an American lady is driving in a carriage car-riage and six horses through our provincial pro-vincial towns, attracting people by means of her brass band to accept her advice-and! advice-and! medicine as from the world renowned re-nowned American, lady doctor." The same paper tells of an English quack "now traveling in America with a very lovely young woman, whom he exhibits as a result of his medicine, which, he declares, causes the perfection of her complexion. He sells a tonic, too, to which he attributes the abundance of her hair, and drugs for the increase or reduction reduc-tion of flesh to her standard." |
