Show A Deposit of Salmon River Gold The largest single deposit of placer gold ever received at the U S Assay office here came in this morning from the Salmon River mines Idaho Through the kindness of Assayer Harrison a Herald reporter was granted the oppor tunity of seeing this largo quantity of gold at the Assay office It was all contained con-tained in a large metal basin and was a load for one man to lift It contained some nuggets hut the bulk of it was fine dust which had been collected with quicksilver and afterwards retorted The whole weighed 1235 ounces and its worth in round numbers is
