Show THE WEEKLY MEET Jlhuiness Before the City Council Lust Evening The City Council met at the usual place last evening and tool up the following fol-lowing business A M Paul and others asked that the practice of driving sheep along Seventh South street be prohibited After some discussion the matter was referred to the City Marshal James Chesney asked the privilege of tapping the water mains at his residence Referred W N Cook asked that the road in front of his house be repaired Committee Commit-tee on Streets and Alleys Richard Rogers and Jane Hunt were granted free job wagon licenses J W Elliot and Tomney and Hil stead were granted retail liquor dealers licenses Mayor Armstrong reported upon the erection of street lamps along Main between North and South Temple Streets The Marshal submitted his report of expenditures for March amounting to 60024 Committee on Police The Police Justices report for March shows eightytwo cases to have been tried and 147750 assessed in fines Referred Re-ferred to the Committee on Police The Committee on Irrigation to whom had been referred the petition of L J Aubrey asking leave to plant a water tank at the corner of Centre and Currant streets reported unfavorably upon the petition Adopted The same committee reported favorably favor-ably on the petition of Tsrkel Torkeldson and George W Willis making a similar simi-lar request under certain restrictions Adopted The bill of Mrs M A Burt for feeding city prisoners 2141 meals at 15 cents amounting to 32115 was allowed The bill of the Star Printing Company 2395 was also allowed Five hundred dollars was appropriated to the marshals contingent fund The nuisance ordinance was laid over for another week Adjourned |
