Show THE WEEK IN SOCIETY I I Duller and Duller Tinder the Shroud of Lent I The past week has been another very dull one as far as private social events are concerned and the attractions at the Theatre together with Lent must take the blame Iniss Cooks Paty Last evening Miss Millie Cook was the recipient of a very pleasant surprise party gotten up by Miss Holden and attended by very many of the friends of the lady The music lor the dancing was furnished by the Rawlings band and the Terpsichorean divertissements were under the direction of Mr Geo L Clift The party consisted of Mrs Taylor i Miss Heil Mrs Stromberg Miss Hall Miss Mallett Mrs Ed Talbot Miss Conrad Con-rad Miss Smith Miss Holden Messrs J B Keysor J Wintsless John Heil John Currie James Brown James Jennings Jen-nings June McDonald John Babtee J J Farrell F Talbot Jas McKnight W R Mesick M L Cummings Max Lip man John Talbot and Colonel ONeal The Temple of Honor The entertainment given by tho temperance tem-perance people on Wednesday evening must have been a source of satisfaction to those who were engineering the affair Regular theater rates have been charged for performances that could not compare with it in any respect Each number on the rather lengthy programme was well received by the guests and each deserved the reception it had It would be useless use-less to attempt to single out any individual in-dividual upon whom we might hang the laurel when all did so much to amuse and entertain the audience Prof Helds Cornet band rendered some beautiful selictions which were indicative of the splendid drilling the band must have had during the winter months The Temple of Honor people are to be praised for giving so freely so good an evenings enjoyment |
